The Office of Alumni Affairs and the Medical Alumni Association support students at all stages of their medical education by providing opportunities for meaningful interaction with alumni. School of Medicine alumni have graciously offered to open their homes and workplaces to students to share their expertise and insights. Please note: at this time, these programs are only offered to students enrolled at the School of Medicine.

Medical Specialty Sessions
The WSU Medical Alumni Association hosts a series of medical specialty virtual webinars; praciticing physicians and residents will speak on their experience, offer suggestions and answer questions.
Dinner with a Doc
The WSU School of Medicine Dinner with a Doc program matches medical students with practicing physicians in the Detroit metro area. Physicians host dinner for a current student in their home or at a restaurant.
Shadowing
Physicians welcome current medical students to shadow at their practice. It's a great way to build relationships with future colleagues in the WSUSOM family while learning at the same time. Please note: shadowing is only open to current medical students at this time.
HOST (Help Our Students Travel)
HOST is a program sponsored by the WSU Medical Alumni Association designed to reduce students' residency travel expenses and connect alumni and students throughout the country. Alumni volunteers provide students with a free place to stay as well as offer invaluable advice about residency training, the prospective medical center and community in which they are interviewing.
