Beth Olson, MPH '18
Beth Olson's current role is Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Previously, she held the inaugural Water Safety Officer position in the Office of Environmental Health & Safety at Wayne State University. In addition to helping create WSU's first campus-wide Water Safety Management Program, she drafted the 2017 Macomb County Community Health Improvement Plan. Other previous roles include Laboratory Technician, Part-time faculty and Occupational Health & Safety Specialist. She serves on the Special Projects Committee on the Medical Alumni Assocation Board of Governors, is the chairperson for the MPH Alumni Group and served on the MPH Lighthouse Scholarship Selection Committee. Beth holds an ASSE 12080 certification in Legionella Water Safety Management and Personnel.
Beth attended Wayne State University and received her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Spanish. She graduated with her Master of Public Health in Public Health Practice in 2018. She lives in Grosse Pointe Farms and loves traveling with her family and two dachshunds.
