Philip Lewalski, M.D., FACEP, Class of 1989, is an assistant professor (clinician-educator) in the Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine.

He was named chief resident of Emergency Medicine at Detroit Receiving Hospital from 1991 to 1992.  He also serves as a member of the Detroit Medical Center’s Medical Executive Committee and a staff physician in the Emergency Department at Detroit Receiving, Harper and Hutzel Hospitals.

Board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he is a member of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians, Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Beta Kappa.

A native Detroiter, he and his wife, also a WSU graduate, have eight children. The family has been awarded 13 degrees from WSU. Dr. Lewalski enjoys music, nature and hunting.
