Ribhi Hazin, M.D., Res. '14
Ribhi Hazin is a Harvard-educated physician with expertise in health policy, ethics, and medical education. Dr. Hazin was awarded the prestigious John F. Kennedy Scholarship in Policy from Harvard University and was later named a Fulbright Scholar by the United States Department of State. In addition to his extensive work in health policy on the national and international level, Dr. Hazin has been involved in numerous clinical trials at Harvard University, the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic and elsewhere and has authored over 80 publications in premier peer-reviewed medical and policy journals. He has also authored numerous book chapters in leading medical publications.
Dr. Hazin’s research has been published in the premier peer-reviewed medical and policy journals including the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, Annals of Medicine, The Lancet, Health Affairs, the Journal of Family Practice, Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, the World Journal of Ophthalmology, the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the International Journal of Ophthalmology, International Journal of Epidemiology, and numerous others. Recently, Dr. Hazin worked with leading American healthcare organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the National Medical Association as a health policy expert and helped draft policies to improve their healthcare systems.
In addition to his background as an academic, Dr. Hazin is also proud to be a dedicated public servant. For the past 2 decades, he has worked closely with with renowned International organizations like Physicians for Peace and led medical missions across the world including in Syria, India, Greece, Mali, Uganda, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine. Dr. Hazin remains actively involved in various refugee nonprofits that operate in Africa and in the Middle East.
