White Coat Sponsorship Program
Support a time-honored tradition by sponsoring a white coat for an incoming member of the WSU School of Medicine Class of 2021
The White Coat Ceremony is a pivotal moment marking the beginning of a student's journey into medical education and a lifelong career in healing. Receiving this iconic professional symbol represents the donning of the tremendous responsibility and privilege of caring for each and every patient they encounter. For the first time, the WSU Medical Alumni Association is offering alumni and friends the opportunity to be part of this respected tradition.
We invite you to join in welcoming a new generation of Wayne State-educated and trained physicians by sponsoring an incoming student's first white coat. They will carry it with them throughout their medical school experience as a token of a physician's responsibility and an affirmation of their commitment to the community. Each student will be presented with a card with the name of the physician who provided their coat at the ceremony. After the ceremony, students will be able to convey their personal thanks and perhaps begin a dialog that will last throughout medical school and beyond.
The White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2021 will be held July 28. The sponsorship deadline is July 1. Gifts received after July 1 will be used for Class of 2022 White Coat sponsorships. Your participation will inspire future WSU School of Medicine graduates to carry on this tradition.
