Jan Bertsch, served as the chief financial officer and senior vice president of Owens-Illinois, Inc., a leading manufacturer of container glass and packaging products.  She was also executive vice president of Sigma-Aldrich Corp, a $2.7 billion leading life science and high technology company focused on enhancing human health and safety, manufactures and distributes more than 200,000 chemicals, biochemicals and other essential products to more than 1.4 million customers globally in research and applied labs as well as in industrial and commercial markets.

Before joining Sigma-Aldrich, Bertsch spent 33 years in the automotive sector in a variety of international finance, treasury and operational roles. She was assistant treasurer of Ford Motor Co., treasurer of Visteon, chief information officer and treasurer of Chrysler, and treasurer, controller and chief administrative officer of BorgWarner.

She has been actively involved in several business and community endeavors, including as chair of the Wayne State University School of Medicine Board of Visitors, a board member of Vista Maria, and an advisory board member of Cisco and Microsoft. In 2013, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of Babcock & Wilcox Co.

The holder of a bachelor's degree in finance from WSU and a Master of Business Administration degree from Eastern Michigan University has twice been elected to Top 100 Most Influential Women in the Automotive Industry.
