Ilya Rakitin, M.D. '15
Dr. Ilya Rakitin is a dual board-certified surgeon in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and practices as a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon in the Division of Acute Care Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Rakitin graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2015. He then completed his residency training in General Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in 2020 where he was administrative chief. Finally, he completed his surgical critical care training at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes Jewish Hospital in 2021. He has been a staff surgeon at Henry Ford Hospital since 2021.
Dr. Rakitin has an interest in surgical education and clinical outcomes research. He is involved in medical student, resident, and fellow education along with involvement on committees in both regional and national surgical societies. His clinical interests include abdominal wall reconstruction, trauma resuscitation, sepsis, and the application of robot-assisted surgery in the acute care surgery model.
