Safia Haniya Yusuf, Class of 2028

Safia Haniya is a medical student at Wayne State University School of Medicine, a Wayne Med-Direct Scholar, and the current President of the Board of Student Organizations (BSO). Originally from California, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Public Health with minors in Biological Sciences and Urban Sustainability from Wayne State. Safia is deeply committed to addressing health disparities in the United States and advancing health education and communication. She aspires to become a physician serving underserved urban communities, where she can help bridge gaps in care and advocacy.
