Inaugural Wayne Giving Day

Thank you for supporting the School of Medicine during Wayne State University's first university-wide Giving Day, #InspireOpportunity! By donating to initiatives and programs at the school and across the campus community on April 4, you helped provide support to our students, faculty and research enterprise while also contributing to Pivotal Moments: Our Campaign for Wayne State University. Generous alumni and donors like you make our work possible which allows us to make an even bigger impact on our community! We hope that you will join us again next year and help to grow this giving movement.

The Pivotal Moments campaign is Wayne State's most ambitious fundraising effort to date. Since launching it has been a source of excitement and engagement around key areas of growth for the university. The inaugural #InspireOpportunity Wayne Giving Day built on the campaign momentum. On Giving Day more than 650 donors helped to power our mission contributing $227,669 toward a variety of university initiatives.

More than $40,000 was raised for the School of Medicine from more than 80 donors, some who were contributing for the very first time! 83 percent of these gifts were designated to the Medical Alumni Annual Fund which makes an even greater impact. Each year the annual fund provides support for programs and services that help maintain the robust educational environment of our School of Medicine. These resources fund student organizations, academic success programs, and opportunities for leadership and professional development for our students.
