This campaign will focus on three pivotal areas: providing exceptional education to equip our students with the skills and knowledge to become the healthcare and scientific leaders of tomorrow; fostering groundbreaking research to identify the causes and determinants of disease and transform our abilities to prevent, treat and cure those affected by illness; and making a profound impact on our community’s health and wellness by addressing critical health challenges and disparities for our urban neighbors that will extend to diverse populations around the world.

In addition to being an influential research university, WSUSOM offers the opportunity for hands-on involvement at numerous free clinics, early and plentiful clinical rotations, and connections to every major health system in Detroit, being the only MD program in the city. Detroit also has a vibrant and continuously growing cultural and entertainment scene to explore. ”
