Notable Alumni
Since 1868, the Wayne State University School of Medicine has proudly educated many of the top physicians and researchers in the country. Within this section you will find brief biographies of some of these remarkable alumni. These individuals serve as an inspiration to the School of Medicine community due to their professional accomplishments, leadership and service to humanity. Check back often as we continue to expand our list of notable alumni. General standards/criteria for inclusion (may include active, former and retired roles):
- Selected for national/international awards/recognition
- Contributed to a major discovery or advancement in medicine
- Holds a prominent position in an organization or company
- Holds a prominent position in government
- Is a recognized expert or leader in their profession or specialty
- Devotes time and effort to improving lives and communities through volunteer efforts
