Joseph Bookstein
Joseph Bookstein, M.D. ’54, is a past professor of Radiology and chief of Cardiovascular Radiology at the University of California Medical Center in San Diego, and director of Radiology Research Laboratory at LaJolla, Calif.
He is one of the leading experts on Cardiovascular Radiology, with memberships in 13 nationally related scientific societies. He has more than 360 scientific papers, abstracts chapters and a book to his credit. He lectured often about the consequences of nuclear war and was vice president of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the WSU School of Medicine Distinguished Alumni Award.
