Trifun Dimitrijevski

Trifun Dimitrijevski, M.D. ’02, F.A.C.E.P., is an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine for the Wayne State University School of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine and associate director of its Emergency Medicine Clerkship Program.

Dr. Dimitrijevski, who also has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from WSU, also serves as director of Simulation at the WSU School of Medicine’s Kado Clinical Skills Center.

After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Dimitrijevski completed an Emergency Medicine residency at Detroit Receiving Hospital, serving as chief resident from 2004 to 2005.

He joined the Emergency Medicine staff at Detroit Receiving Hospital in 2005 as a staff physician, and served as the flight physician and medical control for the Midwest Medflight air ambulance service in Ypsilanti from 2005 to 2009.

Aside from his clinical and teaching obligations, Dr. Dimitrijevski is very involved in event/sports medicine, serving as deputy medical director of the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, a team physician for the Detroit Pistons since 2014, and providing medical care to participants in the Detroit Free Press Marathon and for spectators at Comerica Park during Detroit Tigers games and concerts.

Dr. Dimitrijevski is an active member of the WSU Medical Alumni Board of Governors, serving as secretary in 2015.

He received the 2014 College Teaching Award in Emergency Medicine and the Recent Alumni Award, presented annually to alumni who received a medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine within the last 15 years and who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, community contributions or service to the WSU School of Medicine.
