Daniel Mooradian

Daniel Mooradian, Ph.D.’87, is a medical device executive, inventor, entrepreneur and educator.

After receiving his doctorate in Experimental Pathology from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Mooradian completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Extracellular Matrix Biology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (1992).

Dr. Mooradian joined the faculty in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota, and was a founding member of the faculty in Biomedical Engineering, where his research focused on cardiovascular tissue engineering. He held several positions in the medical device industry, including vice president of research and development for Synovis Life Technologies Inc., which was acquired by Baxter International in 2012. He has successfully commercialized products that have been used in tens of thousands of patients around the world.

He is president of The Simpatico Group LLC, a St. Paul, Minn.-based consulting firm, and is the Honeywell/James J. Renier Chair in Technology Management at the Technological Leadership Institute of the University of Minnesota, where he serves as director of Graduate Studies for TLI’s M.S. program in Medical Device Innovation.
