Kevin Sprague
Kevin Sprague, M.D. ’80, is an orthopedic surgeon with Oakwood Southshore in Trenton, Mich.
Dr. Sprague completed his Wayne State University orthopedic residency in 1985, and has been in practice in the downriver area ever since. His practice is located at Oakwood Southshore in the Michigan Bone and Joint Center.
He chairs the Wyandotte Philanthropy Medical Staff Fund. He is a former chief of staff for Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital and its philanthropic council, and past co-chair of the Quality and Safety Committee.
Dr. Sprague has been a member of the WSU School of Medicine’s Alumni Board of Governors since 2002, and served a term as president from 2005 to 2006. He previously worked with the Executive Committee to secure funds for the Mazurek Medical Education Commons. He presently works with the WSU School of Medicine Alumni Education Fund, which provides assistance in relieving medical student debt. He also serves on the WSU School of Medicine Board of Visitors and chairs the Admissions Committee. He serves as interim associate dean of Admissions.
Dr. Sprague received the School of Medicine’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012.
The Spragues are a legacy family. His wife and two of their three children are WSU School of Medicine alumni.
