Jeffrey Weisz
Jeffrey Weisz, M.D. ’72, is president and executive medical director for the Northwest Permanente Medical Group. He also sits on the governing board of the national Permanente Federation’s Executive Committee. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology.
After receiving his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Weisz completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital and a fellowship in clinical Oncology and Hematology at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
Before joining Northwest Permanente, Dr. Weisz was the executive medical director and chair of the board of the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. He began his career with Kaiser Permanente in 1978 as a staff hematologist/oncologist at the Panorama City, Calif., Medical Center. Dr. Weisz was appointed area medical director of Woodland Hills Medical Center in 1999.
He leads 1,300 Permanente physicians and clinicians in the Northwest Region, who provide care to nearly 480,000 members of Kaiser Permanente.
Among Dr. Weisz’s honors are the Southern California Permanente Medical Group’s Internist of the Year and Outstanding Physician of the Year.
Dr. Weisz is the lead author of the book, “It’s a Great Time to Be A Physician: Building a Healthcare System that Works.”
