Steve Daveluy

Steve Daveluy, M.D., is a board-certified dermatologist, associate professor and program director of the Wayne State University Department of Dermatology. He runs the oncodermatology clinic at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. He also provides care at the John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center with a focus on teledermatology services, reaching patients in several states.

Dr. Daveluy earned his bachelor’s degree in zoology from Michigan State University. He received his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine and then completed residency training in the Wayne State University Department of Dermatology. He joined the faculty at the conclusion of his training.

Dr. Daveluy is a clinician and educator of both medical students and residents. Dr. Daveluy believes strongly in supporting the Wayne State University School of Medicine through his role as president of the Alumni Board of Governors. He has a passion for and conducts research in hidradenitis suppurativa and serves on the board of directors of the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation.

Dr. Daveluy is the chair of the Performance Measurement Committee and chair of the Inflammatory Skin Disease and Itch Measure Task Force of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has played an instrumental role in developing performance measures to enable physician participation in quality reporting, which earned him the 2020 Performance Measure Pioneer Award.

Dr. Daveluy has been an active member of the Wayne County Medical Society of Southeast Michigan. He has individually written resolutions, as well as working with residents and medical students. He has a special interest in nurturing the future leaders of medicine and is the faculty advisor for the Wayne State University School of Medicine student chapter of the American Medical Association. His joy for advocacy extends to his role as the president of the Michigan Dermatological Society.

In 2023, Dr. Daveluy received the WSU School of Medicine Recent Alumni Award.
