Notes of Appreciation
Every contribution alumni make, whether providing a meal or housing for a medical student, offering career advice or a shadowing opportunity, hosting an event, or donating to the Medical Alumni Annual Fund, has a lasting impact on the School of Medicine community. I shadowed Dr. Arbit, a physiatrist in West Bloomfield and Commerce Township. Even with other trainees rotating with him, he was invested in my experience and helped me think through my specialty differentiation process. I was included in patient interviews, physical exams, and treatment plan discussions.
The entire clinic staff was very welcoming. The physical therapist, Courtney, embraced my learning experience and taught me about the interprofessional relationship between physiatry and physical therapy. I learned a lot about physiatry in a short amount of time and all in all, this was a great shadowing experience. I'm very grateful for the time Dr. Arbit and his staff dedicate to Wayne medical students.
