Notes of Appreciation
Every contribution alumni make, whether providing a meal or housing for a medical student, offering career advice or a shadowing opportunity, hosting an event, or donating to the Medical Alumni Annual Fund, has a lasting impact on the School of Medicine community. Below are expressions of appreciation from medical students for support they have received from alumni.
Event: Dinner with a Doc
Event Year: 2022
Sofia
Dear Dr. & Mrs. Carl Lauter,
Thank you so much for hosting me and Julia for Brunch! I really enjoyed learning about each of your own and your family’s experiences in medicine. I especially enjoyed learning about why you enjoy infectious disease so much—about how it doesn’t concentrate on just one organ and how it resembles solving mysteries (like Sherlock Holmes). I will not forget what you taught us about the difference between SOB and FOB and the importance of infectious disease in treating the whole patient. I loved the TED Talk from Abraham Verghese that you recommended to us and will continue to recommend that to others. You have such a lovely home, and thank you for inviting me and Julia into it with such open arms!
Sincerely,
Sofia Howson
