The Wayne State University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  

The Wayne State University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)â„¢. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


The goal of this conference is to provide attendees with the most up-to-date information, which will help them in treating patients using the most advanced procedures. As a result of participating in this activity, the learner should be able to identify and define the key terms used in Continuing Medical Education.

Objective for lecture #1: Learn a practical, results-oriented and effective way to improve your life and personal and professional success, and create an action plan with measurable results.

Objective for lecture #2: Recognize physician burnout in ourselves and our colleagues, have knowledge of moral injury in the setting of physician burnout and understand prevention of physician burnout.

Objective for lecture #3: Understand types of implicit bias and how they may impact how we interact with others, understand how implicit bias impacts well-being, understand how implicit bias affects personal and professional identities, and be able to take steps to understand biases and how to mitigate them by challenging norms, cultivating compassion and enhancing empathy.

Objective for lecture #4: Expand awareness regarding how patients are experiencing physician burnout/wellness, increase knowledge regrading thematic efforts to meet patient needs and maintain health of the patient care team within suboptimal systems, understand health system and payer perspectives regarding their role in creating and mitigating structures and routines that are significant factors in physician wellness/burnout such as prior authorization payment denials, medication costs, electronic records and physician data entry, learn about nascent or successful efforts to change systems to address social determinants of health and what we can do as health care advocates to address these issues. 

Objective for lecture #5: Understand the importance of personal branding in the medical field and how it can affect a physician's career, learn how to create and maintain a positive personal brand through various online and offline channels, gain knowledge on how to leverage social media and other digital tools to enhance their personal brand.

Objective for lecture #6: Understand the role of intention and story in leadership and the role and importance of professional identities, identify how these identities can be awakened, strengthened and supported, and identify a community of practice.
